Less than 10 minutes from the University of Klagenfurt is a winter wonderland, ideal for sledding with the kids.

Lake Wörthersee

It is a short walk from the university campus and Lakeside Park to the beaches of the fabulous Wörthersee. In summer, locals and visitors enjoy the crystal clear water for swimming. Kids play in the sandy beach and eat ice cream. Some excursion and sailing boats are on the way. A wooden tower overlooks the lake.

Weekend trips

Many Carinthians love to spend a relaxing weekend at the Adriatic Sea in summer. Popular beach destinations like Grado, Lignano, and Bibione can be reached within two hours. In winter, skiing in the Austrian Alps is the name of the game.


One of the invaluable goodies about working or studying at U Klagenfurt is that you can enjoy extended weekends at the Adriatic Sea.
